TODAY, THIRD SUNDAY OF ADVENT: The Gospel gives us
testimony of the Lord’s precursor, John the Baptist. His duty was to show the Incarnate Word to people who did not get
to know him yet. “Among you is the one
whom you do not know.” He will point out in another occasion: “Here is the Lamb of God who takes away the sins of the world.” At these words John’s disciples began to
follow Jesus. Our duty is to show God
to our contemporaries that He is present not only in mankind, but also in our
consciences, in our lives and our souls through His grace. That’s where He works and we do not notice
this. St. John was “the lamp set aflame and
burning bright.” (John 5,35). Only those who are working on their
conversion can recognize the Savior; those who do penance, who change their
mentality, their thinking, their outlook on the world and life. In the midst of the world which is
preoccupied by material things, events and concerns, we will show the way to
our Savior if we are full of God and His light. If we remove the darkness from our hearts, if we become witnesses
of light, we will become true precursors of the Lord and will prepare the way
of the Lord to our hearts and the hearts of others who still live in an Advent
expectation of their Savior.

DANAS:
3. NEDJELJA DOŠAŠĆA: Evanđelje
donosi svjedočanstvo Gospodinova preteče sv. Ivana Krstitelja. Njegova je bila dužnost da ljudima, koji
nisu znati Gospodina, pokaže utjelovljenu Riječ: «Među vama stoji, koga
vi ne poznajete» Drugom će
zgodom podignuti ruku i prstom pokazati Jaganjca Božjega, koji oduzima grijehe
svijeta.
milosti. Tu On u nama djluje, a da mi
stvarima i događajima, brigama i poslovima, moći ćemo, ako sami
budemo puni Bota i njegova svjetla, u svojoj okolini probuditi dobru volju i
svojim suvremenicima pokazati put do Spasiteljua i spasenja. Ako uklonimo mrak iz vlastitog srca i
postanemo svjedoci Svjetla, postat ćemo pravi preteče Gospodinovi i
pripravit ćemo put Gospodinu kako do vlastite duše, tako i do duša drugih,
koji još uvijek žive u adventakom iščekivanju svog Spasitelja.
